Abstract

The authors report two patients with acute nontraumatic spinal epidural hematoma. In two patients, there were no trauma history or any obvious cause of the hematoma. The onset was sudden. The first patient felt weakness in the both lower extremities and paresthesia below the lower abdomen. The second patient felt sudden posterior neck pain and weakness in the left upper extremity. A magnetic resonance image(MRI) revealed spinal epidural hematoma in the 1st and 2nd patient from T9 to T11, from C3 to C5 respectively. We operated on both patients immediately and after that, patients' neurologic symptoms and signs were reduced a lot.
