Abstract |
Spinal epidural abscess is a rare disease and comprises 0.2 to 2 cases per 10,000 hospital admission. Furthermore, holospinal epidural abscess is a more unusual and potentially devastating condition, that often constitutes an emergent neurosurgical intervention to avoid permanent neurologic deficit. The authors report a case of holospinal epidural abscess from C2 to L5 vertebral body which was treated successfully with several laminectomies and 0.9% normal saline irrigation added by antibiotics.
