Abstract |
Pure distal motor weakness, which is not followed with sensory deficit, is a rare symptom. Recently, we experienced two cases of distal motor weakness in trauma patients who presented with foot drop and weakness of distal leg. Initially, we misdiagnosed them as spinal lesion. The lesions, which were revealed by brain CT scan or brain MRI images, restricted to the primary motor cortex in the contralateral hemisphere. We should consider the possibility of brain lesion in the case of the motor weakness limited to one limb in trauma patients and check image study of brain.
