Abstract |
The authors report on three cases of L1/2 disc herniation, which have distinctive clinical features. All three patients with L1-L2 disc herniation showed severe back pain and lower extremitiy pain, and sensory disturbances at the various locations of both limbs. On the other hand, there were no clear signs of lower extremity weakness, muscle atrophy, change of deep tendon reflex, or bowel and bladder dysfunction in these patients. Patients underwent a partial hemi-laminectomy with discectomy(case 3), subtotal laminectomy with discectomy(case 1), and circumferential fusion(case 2). The findings of L1/2 disc herniation had relatively unique differences from those at lower levels of the lumbar spine. |
