Abstract |
We report a case of a missed thoracic meningioma became symptomatic after lumbar spinal surgery for lumbar degenerative spondylolisthesis and spinal stenosis in a 70-year-old-woman. Additional magnetic resonance imaging of thoracic spine revealed an intradural extramedullary tumor in T3-T4 level. Secondary operation was performed to remove the tumor mass. The patient was fully recovered. Initially, careful physical, neurologic and radiologic examination is very important before spine surgery and missed lesions such as thoracic spinal cord tumors should be considered when neurologic deficits arise after lumbar spine surgery. |
