Neurospine - Table of Contents
Volume 17(Suppl 1); July 2020 http://www.e-neurospine.org

Dear Spine Surgeons and Researchers,

The current issue highlights research for Endoscopic Spine Surgery (ESS) with North American Spine Society (NASS) collaboration.

For this second NASS/Neurospine special issue on ESS, we prepared more visually-oriented papers on the topic "Visualized Endoscopic Spine Surgery."

Volume 17(Suppl 1); Jul 2020

In this issue, Dr. Chun-Kun Park explains the inside-out and outside-in techniques in ESS in an editorial, and Dr. Jeffrey Wang discusses the least invasive procedures and the rationale of spinal endoscopy in an essay. Dr. Kai-Uwe Lewandrowski and Dr. Guntram Krzok describe the inside-out and outside-in techniques using the endoscopic transforaminal approach, and Dr. Kang-Taek Lim and Dr. Hyeun-Sung Kim describe the inside-out and outside-in techniques in endoscopic decompression. Furthermore, Dr. Gun Choi describes the transforaminal approach implemented in the thoracic spine, and Dr. Chien-Min Chen presents the transforaminal approach implemented at L5-S1 in patients with a high iliac crest, expanding the scope of the transforaminal approach.

Additionally, Dr. Jin-Sung Kim describes interlaminar discectomy for highly upmigrated disc herniation, Dr. Yue Zhou describes endoscopic posterior decompression performed in the cervical spine, Dr. Yukoh Ohara introduces transcervical ventral decompression at the craniovertebral junction. These techniques allow surgeons to overcome even particularly difficult challenges in endoscopic surgery.

The Neurospine editorial board members would like to thank everyone who helped with this special issue, and we look forward to the advent of a new era of spinal surgery, to which the insights presented herein may contribute.
